Cops: Woman pummels clerk after feud over $20

NEWPORT, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police said a woman punched a gas station
clerk in the face and held scissors to his throat in a dispute over how much money she had given him. The
clerk at the Country Farms on West Newport Pike told police that a 53-year-old woman asked for $20 of
gas, but only gave him a $1 bill. The clerk said the woman, certain that she had given him a $20 bill,
screamed at him when he refused to give her
$20.
Then police said the woman stormed behind the counter, punched the clerk in the
face and held scissors to his throat. At that point, he gave the woman two $10
bills.
As the woman drove away, police said she found the $20 bill in her purse and
returned to the gas station. Police said she was arrested and charged with offensive touching and
aggravated menacing.
Cop accused of pulling gun while waiting for

AURORA, Colo. (AP) - A Denver police officer has been charged with felony
menacing for allegedly brandishing his gun at a McDonald's restaurant after getting tired of waiting for
his food. Derrick Curtis, 29, Saunders also face charges of prohibited use of a weapon, reckless
endangerment and disorderly conduct.
An employee at the Aurora restaurant told investigators that two Denver police
officers were waiting for their food at the drive-through window May 21 when one grew impatient and
pulled his gun.
No one was injured.
Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson told The Denver Post that Saunders had
been suspended with pay and would be put on unpaid leave once the department is formally notified of the
charges.
There was no answer Monday at a phone number listed for Derrick
Saunders.
Pizzeria owner
accused of beating man over calzone

PALM COAST, Fla. (AP) - Flagler County authorities said a restaurant owner pistol-whipped and beat
a customer who complained that his takeout order was incorrect. The owner of Goomba's Pizzeria was charged with
aggravated assault and battery with a deadly weapon and released on bail.
According to a police report, security footage from the pizzeria shows that the owner struck the
customer with a gun. He then jumped over a counter and started to assault the customer and his roommate.
The customer was at the pizzeria to collect a refund for a calzone, which he said was prepared
incorrectly. He was taken to a hospital after the incident with a bloodied head.

Teed off man uses golf club in clash over manners

FALMOUTH, Mass. (AP) - A man faces assault charges after allegedly striking another man with a golf
club in an argument over manners. Police told the Cape Cod Times that a 50-year-old man leaving a gas station in
town on Monday morning held the door open for a 38-year-old man.
Police said the 38-year-old man did not thank the other man, who responded by uttering a sarcastic "thank you."
The two men got into an argument before the 38-year-old went to his car to get a golf club, which he allegedly used
to strike the victim several times in the stomach and legs. Police said the victim suffered minor injuries.
The 38-year-old man pleaded not guilty to assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in Falmouth
District Court on Tuesday and was ordered to stay away from the other man.

Police: Doughnut shop worker slashes man's tires

NATICK, Mass. (AP) - All the customer wanted was coffee. Instead, he needs four new tires. Police say a worker at a
Massachusetts Dunkin' Donuts slashed the tires on a customer's Jeep after the two got into an argument Tuesday.
Thirty-nine-year-old Thomas Zazulak was charged with malicious destruction of property and
disturbing the peace.
Police say the dispute broke out when the customer - whose name wasn't released - started to leave
because he was tired of waiting for the cup of coffee he ordered.
Words were exchanged, then Zazulak allegedly followed him outside, pulled out a folding knife and
slashed the tires.
Zazulak pleaded not guilty Thursday. His lawyer, Joseph Leone, says he has no history of violence
and the truth will come out in the legal process.

Woman sues Santa, claiming he fell on top of her Feb 20, 8:39 PM (ET)
CHICAGO (AP) - Call it the case of the overserved Santa. Antoinette Basso filed a lawsuit Thursday
against a man dressed in a Santa suit who she said stumbled and fell on top of her, knocking her face-first into
the sidewalk outside a Chicago restaurant.
Basso claims in the Cook County Circuit Court lawsuit that she suffered "pain ... disability and
disfigurement." She's asking for damages in excess of $50,000.
Basso alleges that the Santa, Daniel Aulwes, appeared intoxicated at the time of the Dec. 7
incident. She's accusing Aulwes of negligence and negligent battery.
A telephone listing for Aulwes had a recorded message that said the call cannot go through.
